Randy MacDonald – Owner
Randy MacDonald grew up with a passion for racing. Since he began driving his go-kart at the age of three, Randy’s desire to succeed in professional motorsports has been continual growing passion. He earned Rookie of the Year Honors on the NASCAR North Tour (1985) and in the GM/Players Challenge Series (1987). MacDonald went on to compete in the GM National Stock Car Series, the highest level of stock car racing in Canada at the time and won the GM National Stock Car Series championship in 1990. He then competed in the ASA Challenge Series, earning 1993 Rookie of the Year Honors.
MacDonald made his first NASCAR Cup Series Start in 1994 at North Carolina Speedway. MacDonald has since competed in several Cup and Busch (Nationwide) series races and spent three full seasons in the Craftsman (Camping World) Truck Series. He has competed with some of the finest drivers of all time, including Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace, and the late Dale Earnhardt.
Randy recently cut back on driving to focus on a new chapter in his racing career: team ownership. He is continually searching for talented, young stock car drivers who share his passion for racing and success. As owner of MacDonald Motorsports, Randy is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the team, securing sponsorship, and ultimately guiding his team to a winning position in the highly competitive NASCAR Nationwide Series.
John Monsam – Crew Chief
John Monsam was born in Connecticut and graduated from Westfield State University and moved to North Carolina in 1985. His first year as a crew chief would be 1994 in which he won 2 races in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with Ricky Craven behind the wheel. Since then John has Crew Chiefed for DEI, Roush Racing, Wood Brothers, Kevin Harvick Inc. and many more.
Over his 17 year career as a crew chief, John has 7 wins in the NASCAR Truck Series and 2 wins in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
